The building's multizone heat pumps are consuming much more energy than expected. HP-2, the 3-zone(3C24), operates in a "set and forget" mode with an indoor setpoint of 69° F.
Heating coefficient of performance (COP) is the ratio of the equipment's output to its input. HP-2's expected COP
is greater than 1.92 at 5° F, increasing to greater than 3.6 at 47° F. As the table to the left indicates, it's consuming about sixty percent more energy than expected.
HP-2's energy input is being measured using TEDequipment.
Its heating output is estimated as the product of its design heating load with the ratio of actual temperature difference to design temperature difference.
Outside air temperature is measured using Onsetequipment;
here's the current outside air conditions.
